The NBA Is Taking a Way Different Approach to Anthem Than NFL. See What the Commissioner Just Said

The NFL looks like a complete mess in its current state.

No one can deny that American die-hard football fans are not satisfied with the player’s antics during the national anthem.

President Trump joined in the discussion and put every single NFL rebel on blast.

President Trump’s harsh criticism on players that protest was not accepted lightly by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The Commissioner fired back at the POTUS by saying: “The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture. There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we’ve experienced over the last month.”

Roger Goodell was determined to voice his opinion on the ongoing issue and continued his statement by saying: “Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.”

Numerous NFL teams sparked the national anthem protests even more by refusing to even get out of their locker room during the national anthem. Some players even locked arms with their teammates. Images of the national protests are displayed down below.

The NBA has a different view and a whole different approach to fixing the issue. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver won’t like to see the players kneel during the national anthem. Silver got out in front of the NBA’s Board of Governors on Thursday and said:

“It’s disheartening to see so much disunity in our society. I think that sports historically and the NBA, in particular, has been a unifying force. And while there [have] always been disagreements in society, sports arenas have been places where people from all walks of life have come to together for a common experience. And when it comes to political disagreements, I would hope that we the league together with our players can play a constructive role.”

Unlike Goodell who doesn’t mind to see the players sit or kneel down during the anthem, Silver thinks it’s a dishonest way to disrespect the flag and our beloved country.
